WIGGLE ROOM
2018
video projection & sound installation
Through our hands, we experience touch and feeling at the same time. Visually they symbolize both force and agency.
In the soundscape, jazz-standard love songs performed by a female voice are reduced to the utterances of “I”, “you”, “my”, and “your”, dismantling the simplistic narrative of romantic femininity. What remains is a collage of possessives opening questions about the self and the other.
Reaching into an intangible expanse where sensations and emotions take visible form, the hands are creating a space for self-awareness. Leaving an interval between what, when and where. A space to reflect between reaction and response: Wiggle Room
